Ink & Echo Is the mastering of Juan Felipe Ramirez
Anxious and disobedient - I have devoted his time in the studio to counter anxiety and melancholia through my alias, Monsieur Philippe. In this process, I have cultivated a sound characterized by a contrast of chaos and structure. I grew up between Cali and Medellin, Colombia, and as a teenager I learned to read and play music as a clarinetist. Monsieur Philippe makes deconstructed club music that preserves a perpetual motion - a fusion of psychedelic, dystopian, and experimental sound design, syncopated or swinging grooves, unexpected dissonances and magnetic low ends. My cinematic and personality-printed music has shades of subconcious criticism and sarcasm with influences of Jungle/ Tekno/ Bass/ Ambient/ Latin/ Dub/ Noise and Rap - it is often hard to define or classify making it genre fluid.
From genres like these I have learned to quickly identify and surpass audio challenges like phasing, frequency masking, achieving clarity & definition, and tonal balance - respecting the integrity, emotion, and ethos of your music.
With 5+ years of music production experience, I keep developing a deep understanding of mastering techniques that allow me to produce results that are both clear and impactful. My ability to quickly identify and address audio imbalance, allows me to maximize the potential of each project. I love to work closely with clients to understand their unique vision and ensure that the mastering aligns perfectly with their goals.
